Course Outline

DAY 1

Foundations of Hand Bouquets

Lesson 1: Monofloral Hand Bouquet

Lesson 2: Mixed Flower Hand Bouquet

We begin with the very heart of floristry — the hand bouquet. This day is all about building a strong foundation in floral design, whether you’re working with a single flower type or a full variety of blooms.

In the first half, you’ll explore the elegance of monofloral bouquets. Learn how to prepare seasonal, local, and imported flowers properly, then discover the beauty of working with just one type of bloom. With a focus on clean design, you’ll be guided through the essential floral design principles — line, form, and space — and how they apply to minimal, impactful compositions. You’ll practice the spiraling hand-tied technique, one of the most important florist skills, and finish your bouquet with stylish wrapping for a polished, modern look.

In the second half, we introduce mixed flower bouquets — the art of balancing textures, colours, and shapes. You’ll dive into layering techniques, explore how to combine focal flowers, fillers, and foliage, and learn how to create natural rhythm and visual flow in your design. Through hands-on guidance, you’ll practice building a balanced, vibrant bouquet, complete with professional wrapping techniques that elevate your final creation.

Advanced Bouquet Techniques

Lesson 3: Round Flower Bouquet

Lesson 4: Bridal Bouquet & Corsage

On the second day, we take your bouquet skills to the next level with more refined and structured floral designs. You’ll begin with the round flower bouquet, a classic style known for its balanced, dome-shaped form. Learn the key techniques behind creating volume while maintaining lightness, and how to achieve symmetrical placement and structure. Through guided practice, you’ll build a lush, round bouquet that feels both full and elegant — finishing it with professional wrapping to match.

In the second session, we step into the world of wedding floristry. You’ll be introduced to the emotional depth and storytelling that bridal bouquets represent, including how to select symbolic blooms that resonate with love and celebration. Practical considerations such as longevity, transport, and comfort are covered, alongside hands-on training in bridal bouquet design — specifically, a soft cascading style. You’ll also learn how to create matching corsages, both wrist and pin-on types, mastering the small-scale mechanics that add a perfect finishing touch to any bridal look.

By the end of Day 2, you’ll have built two advanced floral pieces that showcase a higher level of structure, emotion, and technical finesse — essential skills for any aspiring professional florist.

DAY 2

DAY 3

Basket Arrangements

Lesson 5: Classic Basket Flower Arrangement

Lesson 6: Basket with Fruits/ Gift Items

Day 3 is all about creating charming and practical floral designs that are perfect for gifting. You’ll start with the classic basket flower arrangement, where you’ll learn how to work with floral foam for hydration and support, ensuring your blooms stay fresh and beautifully positioned. This session focuses on design balance — from proportion and flow to adding movement through thoughtful placement of height, depth, and direction. With hands-on guidance, you’ll build your own basket arrangement that feels organic yet polished.

In the second session, we explore how to incorporate non-floral elements like fruits, snacks, or small gift items into your design. You’ll discover how to blend textures and create themed arrangements that tell a story — whether it’s a festive gift basket or a thoughtful care package. Learn to coordinate colours between flowers and objects for a cohesive, eye-catching result. This lesson is a favourite for those looking to create meaningful, multi-purpose floral gifts that go beyond just flowers.

By the end of the day, you’ll leave with not just one, but two practical and beautiful basket arrangements — and the creative confidence to design your own unique gifting blooms.

Box & Stand Arrangements

Lesson 7: Flower Box Arrangement

Lesson 8: Stand Arrangement (Opening Stand/Event Stand)

On the final day, you’ll dive into two popular and impactful styles — perfect for both personal gifts and large-scale celebrations.

In Lesson 7, you’ll explore the art of the flower box arrangement, learning how to design within a confined space while still achieving depth and balance. This lesson focuses on top-view design, ideal for flower boxes where the arrangement is seen from above. You’ll discover flower selections that work well in boxes for better longevity, and get hands-on practice in crafting your own stylish and compact floral gift — perfect for modern gifting.

Lesson 8 shifts the focus to something more grand — the stand arrangement, commonly used for openings, events, and special occasions. You’ll be introduced to the principles of large-scale floral design, including how to create strong structure, height, and stability. Learn how to establish visual hierarchy so your design feels intentional and impactful from a distance. Then, with guided support, you’ll build your very own opening stand arrangement — bold, elegant, and celebration-ready.

By the end of Day 4, you’ll not only be more confident in your technical skills, but you’ll also have a complete portfolio of arrangements that show your versatility as a budding florist.

Certificate of Completion provided upon finishing the 4-day course.
